Meet & Greet
I understand that a mandatory free meet & greet session will be scheduled before any walks or home visits can take place to discuss my dog’s needs and ensure a good fit for services.
Booking & Walks/Home Visits
Information About my Dog: I agree to provide all necessary details about my dog before booking.
Minimum Requirement for dog walking: I understand that my dog must be booked for a minimum of one walk per week to retain their space on group walks with Dave’s Dogs.
Walking Schedule: Dave's Dogs aims to provide a reliable and flexible walking service. While we aim to accommodate preferred time slots, pickup times are within a two-hour window.
Access to property and dog/s: I will ensure that Dave’s Dogs has access to the property and dog/s in the timeslot agreed, and that full payment will be required if Dave’s Dogs are unable to access the property or dog/s.
Walking Duration: Group walks last one hour in suitably sized groups. Travel time, collection/drop-off, but the dog may be away from home for more than an hour to accommodate transportation of all dogs in the group. Walk durations may be reduced during periods of adverse weather.
Travel: All dogs are transported in a climate-controlled vehicle, contained in separate secure crates with bedding.
Authorisation for Care: I authorise Dave's Dogs to act as a guardian for my dog during walks and other services, and make decisions in the best interest of my dog's wellbeing in my absence.
Rolling in Faeces or Other Substances: If a dog rolls in animal faeces or any other unpleasant substance during a walk, Dave’s Dogs will carry out a light clean using wipes, water, and an odour-removing shampoo where appropriate. However, please note that we are not a grooming service and cannot guarantee full removal of mess or smell. By using our services, you acknowledge that Dave’s Dogs cannot be held liable for any damage or mess caused to your home or belongings as a result of your dog returning with faeces or other substances still on them. If your dog rolls in faeces or similar on a frequent basis, an additional cleaning fee may be applied. Please ensure you provide clear instructions on where your dog should be left upon return, especially if there are any areas they should avoid entering in such circumstances.
Cancellations
Full Payment for Late Cancellations: Full payment is required for any walks or home visits cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled walk time or home visit.
Service Disruption: Dave's Dogs will make every effort to arrange an alternative and will keep clients informed of any changes.
Payment
Payment Method: Payment is due after the walk or home visit and must be completed within 24 hours of the invoice being received.
Price Adjustments: Dave's Dogs reserves the right to review and adjust prices, with any changes communicated in advance.
Key Handling & Home Security
Key Handling: Keys will be securely stored with no address information, and Dave's Dogs will ensure safe and confidential handling.
Damage: Dave's Dogs is not liable for damage unrelated to dog activities or care.
Return of Keys: Upon termination of services, keys will be returned to the client if requested at no additional charge once final account has been settled.
Equipment & Drying
Collars, Leads, & Harnesses: I agree to provide a suitable collar or harness for my dog. Extendable leads are not permitted. Dave’s Dogs will use their own leads for all walks. Dave’s Dogs will not use aversive tools with any dogs including slip leads, prong collars or ecollars.
Towels for Drying: I will provide towels for drying my dog after walks in wet weather.

ID & Health Requirements
Identification: I confirm my dog wears a collar with an ID tag.
Microchip: I acknowledge my dog is microchipped.
Vaccinations & Health: My dog is vaccinated, and I will notify Dave's Dogs of any illness, especially infectious ones like kennel cough.
Emergency Care: I will provide emergency contact details and authorise Dave’s Dogs to seek emergency care if needed. I confirm my dog is in good health and free from contagious conditions, and I will ensure vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments are up-to-date.
Aggressive/Reactive Dogs
Responsibility: I acknowledge I am responsible for costs resulting from my dog’s aggression or reactivity.
Behavioural Information: I will inform Dave’s Dogs of any aggressive tendencies or behavioural issues.
Switching to Solo Walks: If necessary, my dog may be offered solo walks at an increased rate.
Termination of Service: Dave’s Dogs reserves the right to immediately terminate services if a dog's behaviour is deemed unsafe for others, at the sole discretion of Dave’s Dogs.
Insurance: Dogs are covered by Dave’s Dogs insurance while in our care. However, I am responsible for any damage or injury caused by my dog’s behaviour.
Female Dogs in Season
Group Walks: Female dogs in season are not permitted to join group walks, but solo walks can be arranged at an additional charge.
Weather Conditions
Extreme Weather: In extreme weather conditions (such as high heat or extreme cold), Dave's Dogs will reschedule or reduce the duration of the walk, offer a home visit, or adjust the service to ensure the safety of the dog. The Adverse Weather policy can be viewed here.
Pet Care During Walks
Medication: I authorise Dave’s Dogs to administer basic care (such as medication, if necessary) during walks and to notify me of any issues that may arise.
Termination of Service for Health or Behavioural Reasons
I agree to inform Dave’s Dogs of any health conditions or behavioural issues that may affect my dog’s ability to safely participate in walks. I understand that if, in Dave’s professional opinion, a health or behavioural issue poses a risk to my dog, other dogs, or people, Dave’s Dogs reserves the right to suspend or terminate walking services.
Liability for Injuries
Injury to Dog or Other Dogs: Clients are responsible for any medical expenses incurred due to injuries caused by their dog to other dogs, people, or property, including injuries to Dave's Dogs staff.
Damage & Injury: I understand that Dave’s Dogs is not responsible for any injury or damage that my dog may cause during walks.
Emergencies (Vet Costs/Access to Medical Records)
Emergency Veterinary Care: In the event of an emergency, I authorise Dave’s Dogs to seek veterinary attention for my dog if necessary. I will provide emergency veterinary contact details and any relevant medical history prior to service.
Aggressive Behaviour & Insurance
Termination Due to Aggression: Dave’s Dogs reserves the right to terminate services at any time if a dog exhibits dangerous or aggressive behaviour, at the sole discretion of Dave’s Dogs. For dogs who show reactivity during group walks, solo walks may be offered, subject to availability.
Insurance Coverage: Dogs are covered by Dave’s Dogs insurance while in our care. However, I acknowledge that I am responsible for any damages caused by my dog’s behaviour.
Key Return & Home Access
Return of Keys: If requested, keys will be returned to me at the end of services at no additional charge as soon as the account has been settled.
Dog’s Health and Wellbeing
Health Confirmation: I confirm that my dog is in good health and is free from any contagious conditions before the walk.
Vaccinations & Preventative Care: I will ensure my dog is up-to-date with vaccinations, flea treatments, and worming before walks.
Illness Notification: I will notify Dave’s Dogs immediately if my dog develops any illness or injury that may affect their ability to participate in walks.
